Pujnúcabi -Lonesome for my brothers

Pujnúcabi Chijñecare

Pujnúcabi Sings:

I will sing a bit.

I went to find our older brother Pejnócode. Maybe he would listen to me. I got to Rincón and whenever I’d look at the mountain it would make me lonesome for Pejnócode and Pédrode. The next day I took off for Tobité. It was as though, even if I had to go on foot and walk for a month, I would keep going till I got to Tobité. I could hardly wait to get to the village of Tobité. I was hungry along the way, and ate the food that others gave me. And that made me feel better, less lonesome. When the train reached Portón I was excited to reach our town. Oh, how I longed for our town, being there and eating the food that Cucójnai cooked and our dear older brother Pejnócode.
